Solfac WP

Solfac WP by ENVU is a broad-spectrum residual insecticide developed for professional public-health and household pest-control applications. The powder is mixed with water and sprayed uniformly on approved indoor surfaces, particularly walls and other locations where mosquitoes and crawling or flying pests commonly rest, hide or move.

After the spray deposit dries, insects coming into contact with the treated surface are exposed to Cyfluthrin. Solfac WP provides quick knockdown together with a long-lasting residual effect, including on alkaline surfaces. The formulation is designed to leave virtually invisible deposits and has negligible odour and irritation when handled and applied according to the label.

Solfac WP is particularly suitable for indoor residual spraying against mosquito vectors associated with public-health concerns. ENVU states that the product has been globally evaluated for public-health use and recommended by NVBDCP-TAC.

Mix:

125 g of Solfac WP in 10 litres of water

This prepared solution covers approximately:

500 square metres

Apply uniformly as an indoor residual spray on approved wall and structural surfaces.

For Houseflies, Cockroaches and Mosquitoes in Houses

Mix:

20 g of Solfac WP in 5 litres of water

This prepared solution covers approximately:

100 square metres.

Always use the dosage printed on the original pack. The required spray volume may depend on equipment calibration, surface condition and the approved application programme.

Mode of Action

Solfac WP acts as a contact insecticide. Cyfluthrin affects the sodium balance within insect nerve cells, disrupting normal nerve-signal transmission. Susceptible insects that contact the treated surface experience rapid knockdown, paralysis and control.

Mixing and Application Instructions

1. Wear the protective equipment specified on the product label.
2. Fill the spray tank partly with clean water.
3. Measure the required quantity of Solfac WP.
4. Mix the powder with a small quantity of water to prepare a smooth premix.
5. Add the premix to the spray tank.
6. Add the remaining water and mix thoroughly.
7. Maintain agitation so the wettable powder remains evenly dispersed.
8. Apply uniformly to approved walls and other pest-resting surfaces.
9. Avoid excessive spraying, dripping and runoff.
10. Wash the spray equipment according to label instructions after use.

Important Application Instructions

• Solfac WP is a residual surface spray, not a thermal- or ULV-fogging formulation.
• Apply only to approved indoor surfaces.
• Do not spray directly on people, animals, food or animal feed.
• Protect utensils and food-contact surfaces before treatment.
• Do not eat, drink or smoke while mixing or spraying.
• Keep children, animals and unauthorised people away during application.
• Always read and follow the original product label.

Safety and Handling

Avoid breathing the powder or spray mist and prevent contact with the eyes and skin. Wear suitable protective gloves, clothing, safety goggles and respiratory protection where required. Wash exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after handling, and wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

The ENVU safety data sheet advises avoiding contact during pregnancy and while nursing. The product is also classified as very toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects. Do not allow the powder, spray solution, wash water or empty packaging to enter ponds, drains, waterways or groundwater.

Store Solfac WP in its original, properly labelled container, securely closed and away from heat, ignition sources, food, animal feed and children. Avoid creating airborne dust during handling. Dispose of unused product and packaging through an approved disposal method.

First Aid

In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. If the product enters the eyes, rinse carefully with clean water. Seek medical attention after inhalation, swallowing, significant exposure or persistent irritation. ENVU states that treatment should be symptomatic and supportive.
