Parodia magnifica ‘Variegata’ is a rare, highly coveted cultivar of the Blue-Green Ball Cactus, characterized by striking yellow, cream, or white variegated patches on its blue-green, ribbed body. It features a spherical to cylindrical, clustering growth habit, adorned with dense, golden-yellow, hair-like spines. This succulent produces large, bright yellow flowers at its crown in summer.

  • Variegation: Irregular, non-uniform patches of yellow or cream (variegated) contrast with the base, bluish-green epidermis.
  • Structure: Ribbed, spherical to cylindrical stem that grows in clusters over time. The crown usually has a slight depression and is densely covered in white, woolly hair.
  • Spines: 12–15 or more, flexible, thin, needle-like spines that are golden-yellow in color.
  • Flowers: Large, sulfur-yellow blooms that can reach up to 4.5–5.5 cm in diameter. They are funnel-shaped and bloom at the top (apical) of the stem in the summer.
