Air layering is a vegetative plant propagation technique used to grow new, identical plants (clones) from the parent plant by encouraging roots to develop on a stem while it is still attached to the plant. It is an effective method for rejuvenating overgrown houseplants, such as dieffenbachias, rubber plants, and ficus, or propagating woody ornamentals like camellias and hollies.
