Echinopsis oxygona (Easter Lily Cactus) is a spherical-to-cylindrical, clump-forming cactus native to South America. Known for its, large, fragrant, white-to-light-pink, night-blooming flowers, this species features 11–18 distinct, sharp ribs and clusters of stout, brownish spines. It thrives in well-drained soil with high sunlight, ideal for succulent gardens.
  • Structure: Starts globose but can become short-cylindrical as it matures, growing up to 75 cm tall, with numerous offsets.
  • Ribs: 11–18 sharp-edged, shallow-to-deeply notched ribs.
  • Spines: Clusters of 1–5 central spines and 3–15 radial spines, generally yellow-to-grey with dark tips.
  • Flowers: Large, funnel-shaped (up to 4 inches diameter), appearing in spring/summer, blooming at night and closing by the next afternoon.
