Coveze

Coveze by ENVU is a professional household insecticide designed for controlling difficult crawling and flying pests through residual surface treatment. The diluted solution is applied to approved insect hiding, resting and movement areas, where susceptible pests are exposed when they contact the treated deposit.

The product contains Clothianidin, a second-generation neonicotinoid insecticide with a mode of action different from synthetic pyrethroid, organophosphate and carbamate insecticides. This makes Coveze useful as part of a professionally planned insecticide-rotation and resistance-management programme.

Its convenient 6 g monodose sachet is easy to store, carry, measure and mix. The water-dispersible granules spread readily in water, while the odourless and non-staining formulation helps make treatment more convenient for pest-control operators and customers.

Recommended Dosage

Mix:

6 g of Coveze in 3.75 litres of water

The prepared spray solution covers approximately:

50 square metres of target surface.

Recommended Application Areas

Apply only to surfaces and locations permitted on the original product label.

Application Instructions

1. Inspect the premises and identify pest harbourages, resting areas and movement paths.
2. Wear the protective equipment specified on the product label.
3. Fill the spray tank partly with clean water.
4. Open one 6 g sachet carefully without using the mouth.
5. Add the granules to the spray tank.
6. Add the remaining water to make a total of 3.75 litres.
7. Mix or agitate thoroughly until the granules are evenly dispersed.
8. Apply uniformly over approximately 50 m² of approved target surface.
9. Focus treatment on cracks, crevices and protected insect-hiding areas.
10. Avoid excessive application, dripping and runoff.
11. Keep people and animals away during treatment.
12. Allow treated surfaces to dry before permitting re-entry.

Mode of Action

Clothianidin is a neonicotinoid insecticide classified under IRAC Group 4A. It binds to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect nervous system, causing excessive nerve stimulation, paralysis and death of susceptible pests.

Important Application Precautions

• Do not open the sachet using the mouth.
• Do not use near aquaculture areas.
• Do not apply where honeybees may be exposed.
• Do not spray directly onto people or animals.
• Remove or securely cover food, utensils and animal feed before application.
• Avoid treatment of surfaces that frequently contact people or pets unless permitted by the label.
• Do not use more than the recommended dosage.
• Use only for registered pests and approved treatment areas.

Safety and Handling

Avoid breathing the granule dust or spray mist and avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Wear chemical-resistant gloves, suitable protective clothing and safety glasses during mixing and application. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product, and wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly after handling.

The ENVU safety data sheet states that Coveze may be harmful if swallowed, inhaled or brought into contact with the skin. It is also very toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects. Prevent the product, diluted spray, spills and equipment-washing water from entering drains, ponds or waterways.

Store Coveze locked up in its original labelled packaging in a well-ventilated location. Keep it away from children, food, medicines and animal feed, and dispose of unused product and packaging through an approved facility according to applicable regulations.

First Aid

• If inhaled: Move the affected person to fresh air and obtain medical advice.
• Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing and wash thoroughly with soap and water.
• Eye contact: Rinse carefully with clean water for several minutes.
• If swallowed: Rinse the mouth, do not induce vomiting and seek immediate medical assistance.

The ENVU safety data sheet states that no specific antidote is available and treatment should be symptomatic.
