The Zamioculcas zamiifolia ‘Zenzii’ (or ‘Zenzi’) is a compact, dwarf cultivar of the popular ZZ plant known for its thick, waxy, dark green leaves and tight, upright growth habit. As an easy-care, drought-tolerant succulent, it thrives in low-light, making it perfect for small spaces or desk tops.
Key Features of ZZ ‘Zenzii’:
- Appearance: Features curled, dark green leaflets on thick, upright stems that form a dense, compact clump, growing smaller and fuller than the standard ZZ plant.
- Growth Rate & Size: Slow-growing, typically staying smaller than the 3-foot height of the original species.
- Light Requirements: Thrives in low to bright indirect light, tolerating fluorescent office lighting well.
- Watering & Soil: Drought-tolerant and prefers to have its soil dry out almost completely between waterings, usually every 2–4 weeks.
- Toxicity: Like all Zamioculcas, it is toxic if ingested and can cause irritation to the mouth and stomach due to calcium oxalate crystals.
